Panasonic TX-32LXD85 Widescreen LCD TV Review
Panasonic TX-32LXD85 – 32″ Widescreen HD Ready Viera LCD TV
Panasonic is a multinational cooperation that was found in the year 1918 which is based in Japan. Though the main business of Panasonic is manufacturing electronics, it also provides a lot of non-electronic products and services. It had been ranked as the 59th largest company in the world in the year 2007 by Forbes Global 500. The following review is on Panasonic TX-32LXD85, which is a model of Panasonic’s Viera LCD TV range.
Panasonic TX-32LXD85 32″ LCD Television is the sibling of the very popular and award laden LZD range. Let us see if it can keep up to the performance of its expensive brother Panasonic 32LZD85. The Panasonic TX-32LXD85 is not having a rich specification table as that of the Panasonic 32LZD85 and the reason is of course the price tag over it, which is much lesser. This is one of the main reasons that this model has become extremely popular. Though the cost and the features in the specs are less, the performance of the TV has not declined.

Maintains the family design:
With the design of Panasonic TX-32LXD85 LCD HDTV, it can be easily identified as one of the same family. It has a squarey look with broad bezels that are so unusual now a days. It has the black and silver theme, most of the set being black, the bottom part of the bezel alone has a mild arch like silver finish. The TV sits over a rectangular stand. The display is a 32-inch LCD display with wide viewing angle. It boasts of having VIERA HD and also of 80cms of full widescreen. The resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels which is among the highest of its kind. Having the IPS panel, the TV allows for ultra viewing angle which means you and your friends can enjoy movies and shows irrespective of your positions in the room. The TV has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and brightness of 550cd/m2.
Required connectivity included:
On the side of connectivity, Panasonic has provided TX-32LXD85 LCD TV with very handy three HDMI sockets and has also included an SD card slot for direct playback of digital images. It also sports two Scart sockets, S-video inputs, DVI audio input, analog audio outputs, digital audio outputs, audio inputs and a PC input. Since the TV has a PC input, the display can be doubled as a PC monitor too when you play games via any gaming consoles.
Features:
The essential and the winning features in the 32LZD85 from Panasonic have been maintained in TX-32LXD85 too as it has included the winning combination of Panasonic V-real PRO 3 technology and 100hz. The Panasonic V-real PRO 3 feature works over a large number of picture elements that include colours, detailing, noise reduction and contrast. The included 100Hz element doubles the usual PAL refresh rate and hence makes the objects in motion look much sharper without creating any undesired side effects. The 24p playback and the 3D colour management features are included in the set. The IDTV or the integrated digital freeview feature allows you to watch your regular channel shows too in a better picture quality.
The miscellaneous features included are, Other features include built-in closed caption decoder, sleep timer, parental control, video input picture memory, VESA compatibility etc.
Panasonic’s V-real PRO 3:
The V-real PRO 3 feature is basically the latest high tech processing engine of Panasonic which has the on-board electronics modified and re-engineered to specifically produce better quality images. The V-real PRO 3 is composed of two components which are, the V-Real PRO 3 Driver and PRO 3 Processor.
Excellent picture quality:
Panasonic TX-32LXD85 widescreen LCD TV has managed to produce excellent quality pictures. The colours are vivid and darker pictures have a natural feel to them. They have wide range of tones and the contrast range is very healthy too. The bright white colours are not displayed as they are in most of the TVs, but in the case of the TX-32LXD85, it looks very clean and pure. The black levels have been improved considerably and looks much deeper than that of the similarly priced range of rivals.
1080p quality obtained:
By just having a look at the pictures you would tend to say that TX-32LXD85 is a 1080p TV, whereas it is not. Such is the sharpness of the pictures. When the costly 32LZD85 is kept aside and compared, most of the HD pictures look very identical by being sharp and detailed. The most admirable and surprising fact is that this picture quality is obtained even after its need to downscale the 1080p HD pictures to be compatible with its 1,366×768-resolution LCD panel, it is all because of the Panasonic V-real PRO 3 genius and the 100Hz that sits in there.
Though the fact that the TV is not of 1080p resolution is not seen most of the times, this negativity can be certainly felt in long ranges of HD pictures as in the case of HD pictures, even the long range shots have a lot of detail in them that can be seen. Except for this, the omission of 1080p cannot be really felt much.

Audio:
The audio system uses stereo surround audio system with an audio output of 2×10W which makes the digital entertainment complete with the mind-blowing audio signal quality.
Package, Power consumption and Warranty:
The package includes the Panasonic TX-32LXD85 LCD TV, pedestal stand, connector cables, remote control with batteries and instruction manual.
The operational power consumption is 142W and it drops to 0.6W during standby time.
Panasonic offers TX-32LXD85 one year limited warranty.
Verdict:
Though Panasonic TX-32LXD85 is not as feature rich in all means as 32LZD85, it does the majority of the job and provides you with a great picture quality. One main thing that you must keep in mind is the heaps of pounds that you actually save. If you are very particular in wanting every pixel of the HD picture, then you can opt for the expensive and feature rich 32LZD85.
